You ever just not quite fit in? no matter where you go, no matter what you do?
Like people put up with you, for whatever reason they do it…. Nothing ever feels like home…. Nothing ever feels real… Nothing feels more comfortable than the dark
You show up, autonomously doing the right thing, saying it with true courtesy and emotion because it’s deeply instilled in your blood…
then you walk away feeling like nothing more than a cardboard cutout, or barn yard silhouette
Pyrite lifestyle with Pseudo copacetic Kodak moments
Drinking from the cup of yesterday, from memories of nostalgia, when life truly meant something and was real…. filled with love
Now, it’s like you don’t know how to live in the daylight, where other people are
You’ve been through so many things, but no matter your stature, your position, your education, it’s like nobody cares that you’re actually in the top 2%, or that you have degrees or actually are or were someone once
So you continue to bumble and dumb yourself down so you can fit into a cookie cutter shape so the dough doesn’t get upset
Yeah; no!
So it’s better just to sit alone, because you can trust yourself: At least, you think you do…. then there are those thoughts you can’t tell anybody, because you just cannot
It’s funny how the world has changed since 1968, especially from a Southerner’s point of view
